Every Rider’s Fame                   By Joan Jett, Club Historian.

This is your site to find out interesting newsworthy information, facts and trivia about members of our club. Here you will find photo clips, history, claims to fame, noteworthy information about the rider’s bike, final destination points of interest. Here there will be notes of the youngest riders, oldest riders, longest distance rider info and facts. We will post pictures of who this person was as a child and you can guess who that person is! Match the person to bike, birthday bios. Also riders can choose to log their miles for the year and see what kind of miles they put on. More info as we gain it.

I know that you have plenty of information to provide, because we all live exciting lives riding with the club. Please email me with any information that you would like to share and you can call my cell phone with news also. Folks, keep it clean as this is a family newsletter. Ride hard, ride safe, have fun and make some fame for yourselves, and we will find about it.

I was in my early 20's so I'm only going back a few years maybe about 10:-) I always loved motorcycles especially harleys, but was never really interested in owning one. I had a couple of friends of mine that had harleys and always enjoyed looking at them when they came over. Anyway this one buddy of mine had a beautiful Road Glide, late 70's but didn't have a place to keep it so he asked me if he could keep it in my garage. I had plenty of room so I said no problem. This bike sat in my garage for a whole year and I could count on one hand how many times he rode it, so I figured if this thing is going to take up space in my garage I should have exclusive rights to ride it. Up to this point I hadn't ridden a lot, a couple of dirt bikes and a small yamaha my brother had but never a harley. So I asked my buddy if he would mind if I took it out once in a while and he said no problem. Man I got on that thing and I think that, that was the first time I had an orgasm.:-) I was in love. I was the coolest cat in the neighborhood. Well that thing got under my skin and I was on it all the time, a couple of times he wanted to ride it, it was like sorry, so I ended up riding that thing around for 3 summers, made some really nice friends with harleys and I just couldn't get enough. Well one day he comes to me and tells me that he's going to sell it. I was so bummed, I had just got married bought a house and really couldn't afford a  bike. Well he sold it and I went a whole year without a bike. I would see people riding and instantly get in a bad mood. Finally I saw a picture of a Low Rider in a magazine I was subscribing to and I said that's it, that's the bike for me. I tore out the picture and hung it over my bed, my newlywed wife just loved me, but hey oh well, it was motivation for me to save money to buy this thing. In april of 1980 I was the proud owner of a 1980 Low Rider. and 80/80. Man I remember when they rolled it out of the store my knees almost buckled. I said hell yeah LET THE PARTY BEGIN. I have never looked back since. I am now on my 3rd new  bike and can't see myself ever being without a bike.  Hope you guys enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it. Brings back a lot of memories.

Your friend: Charles
