Well let me start off by thanking all of the members that showed up for what ended up being one of the best rides we have had in awhile mostly due to the weather being rainy on the weekends, but not this weekend it was warm and sunny. Approx. 12 members showed up and after getting caught up since some of these members we haven't seen in sometime again mostly because of the weather. Isn't funny how warm weather brings out the biker in all of us. It was very nice to see some faces we haven't seen for a while for example, "Doc and Helen" & Ellen and Sharon etc. it was great to see and spend the day with you and the rest of the crew. After some bantering back n fourth we opted to stay where we were sure that the weather would be the best. We decided to head up to Clear Lake and head to the city of Nice and have lunch right on the lake at the Boat House Grill, now that we had an ending destination all we needed now was a route & a Road Captain and sweep. Well that didn't take long well it didn't take long for the group to volunteer me as the Road Captain and it was decided that we would take a more direct route there and take the ride around the lake as the return route that way giving it as much time possible to warm up.

We got all of the bikes lined up and ready to roll, we pulled out and headed up Hwy 101 North to the town of Hopland, which was going to be our first stop. The ride up north was great the traffic not so bad considering the weather was great I would have expected to see more cars on the road, don’t get me wrong I’m not complaining just a bit surprised. We enjoyed the ride much more without all the cars and it was a heck of a lot safer that's for sure. We got up to Hopland about hour after we departed and for the most part took our time getting there I think we wanted it to last as long as possible. We took about a 15 min break at Hopland before getting back on the bikes and continuing. Once we got about 5 miles or so north of Hopland the weather, which was already nice, so nice so that some of us started to shed some of the warmer clothing as it was getting toasty. We continued on our route, which took us up Hwy 101 north too Hwy 20 then if it were possible an even sweeter ride all the way to nice and to the boat House Grill. We got there about 40 min's or so after departing Hopland, we got parked all together and headed to the back where they have a huge deck that sits right on the lake and with temps reaching 80 degrees this was freaking awesome. We got to all sit together and had some great conversations and almost just as good of a lunch, don’t get me wrong lunch was great but it just added to all of the fun that the group was having.

Once we had lunch finished we decided that since it was such a great day that we would continue on Hwy 20 to Hwy 53 and ride around the lake then head over to Middletown where we would take our one and only break for the ride back. The ride around the lake was spectacular no wind calm waters and warm sun on your face and yes we used sun screen that should tell you how warm it truly was, when you start thinking of sun screen you know it's riding weather. We got to Middletown still in a t-shirt and vest no jackets required, we took about a 15 minute break while in Middletown, before getting back on the bikes. The route continued to the town of Calistoga then over the hill back to home territory, what a great ride for those of you who missed it you missed a good one. I would like to once again thank all of you who made it you made my ride day a great one thank you.
