Marin County Toy Run Recap

December 13, 2009

Photos from this great run

I would like to thank all the members that showed to support this very fun & different run, unlike most toy runs on this toy run you actually get to see the kids receive the toys and that can be a tear jerker that's for sure. Unlike last year when we all showed up on bikes this year we opted for cars and caravan down due to weather, believe me it didn't put a damper on the run whatsoever. The morning started early also unlike other toy runs this one started early because they actually served you a pancake breakfast prior to going on the run and as it was there were like 12 bikes that showed up and did a run any way's and they met the rest of the people who showed up at the ending location in Novato.

The breakfast was actually pretty you got pancakes, sausage and bacon and orange juice or milk & coffee, not a bad deal whatsoever. Once we had our morning grub out of the way we mingled around for awhile until we heard a familiar sound and that sound was Ho Ho Ho that's right the big man himself Santa Clause had shown up & of course he had Mrs. Clause with him. We watched him make the rounds saying hi to all and posing for pics, that went on for about an 1/2 hour then it was time to make our way back to the cars and head to Novato where the real fun begins. We got to the Humane Society, which is where the run ended, and the fun began. We got parked and made our way to the room where all the toys had got transported to and were waiting for the kids to show up take a seat on Santa's lap & tell him what they wanted for Christmas.

We got to watch child after child come up and ask Santa for the toy that they have been waiting for all year long, let me tell you were they surprised when they were in most cases handed the toy they actually asked for, it does the heart good to see a little ones eyes get really big and that huge smile on there face in anticipation of actually getting to meat Santa and get a present at the same time. This went on for about an hour and a half child after child came up and took a seat and got a toy for the effort. I should also mention that when we got to the ending location that they had Subway sandwiches all ready for those that wanted them not counting cookies galore and water or OJ, that was nice they took very good care of those who attended their event. Before I forget for those that were not aware but Mr. & Miss's Santa Clause were in fact two of our very own members Scott & Debbie West, both did a great job of representing two of the most well know people in the world, so once again Scott and Debbie you guys were great. After all the toys were giving out and the kids went home that brought and end to another successful toy run, once again thanks to all of our members that showed.
